OSS Engineer Intern

An 8 week internship in the Norwegian Telecommunicaitons company Telenor. Here, I worked in OSS (Operational Support Systems), which are the IT systems responsible for the internet functioning correctly

• Refactored existing microservice to remove dependencies within microservice architecture
• Reduced technical debt through refactoring and improvement on existing logic using Kafka
• Implemented new customer payment functionality, enhancing the usability and capabilities of the system
• Upgraded database systems allowing for greater allocation of spatial resources within the system
• Conducted systemic risk analysis on the product, identifying underlying problems relating to rushed implementations early in the development process and potential operational risks
• Presented findings for the Board of Directors, receiving praise for our findings on the effect of technical debt on the value the system can provide for Telenor

• Refactored the client-side logic on a major search page to improve responsiveness
• Created the 'pension agreements' page on the KLP website from scratch
• Developed two APIs in Java for the new 'pension agreements' page
• Worked 'in-line' with the Digital Development team, completing multiple tasks from their backlog

DNV Fuel Fighters

Leading the design team of DNV Fuel Fighter, a technical student organisastion making hyper-efficient electric vehicles

• The objective of Fuel Fighters is to design and build a hyper-efficient road vehicle
• Oversaw a team of 5
• Developed aerodynamic improvements to the car to reduce drag and improve efficiency
• Implemented weight-saving measures by adjusting design of the front wing
• The final design was the NTNU submission to the global Shell Eco marathon competition
